The proper installation of the E-Link Earthing System is critical to ensure system reliability, personal safety, and long-term effectiveness.

When installed as per guidelines, the E-Link system achieves significantly lower earth resistance than traditional methods—especially in favorable soil conditions.
Minimal Maintenance Required
Post-installation, the system is virtually maintenance-free. However, in areas with poor soil conductivity, it’s advised to pour a few buckets of water into and around the earth pits periodically to enhance soil moisture and conductivity.
Ensure effective grounding and structural stability by following these steps for the correct installation of the THOR® Surge Lightning Protection Rod (SLPR):
Step 1: Choose Installation Point
Select the location as per your lightning protection layout. Ensure the surface is flat, level, and structurally sound.
Step 2: Secure the Base Plate
Position the flat base plate and use the provided expansion bolts to anchor it firmly to the concrete. Hammer the bolts into the surface for a tight, vibration-resistant grip.
Step 3: Assemble the Mast Coupler
Before mounting the mast, connect the THOR® SLPR using the mast coupler. Carefully align and tighten the internal and external threads to ensure a secure fit between the SLPR and mast pipe.
- Make a bore of 8 ” to 9 ” in diameter manually up to the electrode length (2 Mtr or 3 Mtr).
- Take one bucket and add ECIM Super and around 40 % water in it. Please also ensure that no excessive water to be added as it will increase settling time. Stir it well with rod and once mixer become homogenous put a little quantity ( a layer of min. 3 to 4 inch) in side the pit before inserting electrode.
- Now drop the electrode exactly in the center of the pit and pour the material around the electrode inside the pit. Remove the trapped air inside the pit by poking a rod into the mixture repeatedly. Please press the material filled from the top so that no air gap remains between surround soil and material. PLEASE NOTE THAT SOIL OR NO ANY OTHER MATERIAL IS TO BE MIXED WITH ECIM SUPER.
- Repeat the above exercise till the pit is completely filled up. Test the earth pit and connect to the electrical circuit minimum after 72 hours. Do not hammer the earth electrode.
- Please note that Earth Resistance Value mainly depends on soil resistivity so E Link does not guarantee any value of earth resistance.
